The Cronkshaw eco pet teepee has a cute window cut out, double door entrance tie backs, 4 coppiced hazel poles and comes with a set of coloured chalks (made with chalk from France) to decorate your teepee with. The feet are reinforced with fabric scraps (left over from making a yurt!) so you can put the teepee outside in finer weather.

** Still scrolling for answers are we?? WELL - here what we're trying to do here:

1) Do something about climate change ASAP. Job number one on this front is swapping all hydrocarbon use at the farm to renewables. We're most of the way there with this one. In 2022 we installed 61 solar panels, 3 Tesla powerwalls, 3 Tesla car chargers and 1 ground source heat pump (for hot water and heating). Next is switching out farm equipment and machinery that runs on hydrocarbons to electric. We're funding this via various off the wall money making schemes such as renting our goats out for zoom calls, renting out our barn for shin digs, hosting holiday makers in a treehouse and various other oddities.

2) Next job on the list is switching up our farming practices to lower carbon models. We want to grow food/ materials with the smallest carbon footprint possible. This is trickier than no.1 (which basically requires saving up enough money to buy new technologies that run off/ create renewable power and taking out the old diesel/ petrol/ etc stuff.) No.2 is more challenging as we are a north facing upland hill farm so our options for what we can grow here are limited. We see our responsibility as a farm as growing food/ materials for our local community that are high quality/ nutritious. We're also growing on a small scale as the farm isn't huge so we cannot benefit greatly from economies of scale. We're currently working out how best to tackle this problem by researching other pioneering farmers/ environmentalists such as Rachel Carson, Iain Tolhurst, Rory Aronson, Kimbal Musk, Joel Salatin and Richard Perkins. 3) Teach about food, farming and the environment. As mechanisation increases in agriculture the number of people involved in growing food decreases this means less and less people have even a basic understanding of where and how their food is grown. We run educational visits with the objective of teaching about how food is grown and how the farmed environment can be managed to make space for wildlife and sequester carbon. We host free visits for schools and charities and individuals/ families can also book to look round.

4) Make buying food from local producers easier for the general public. This is in the ideas stew pot developing. You'll hear more about this as it germinates.

The quicker we can achieve the above, the faster we can do our bit to tackle climate change. This next sentence is cringe inducing for us as we like to earn our own way, but on the advice of numerous people who have encouraged us to 'let people who want to help, help' we have added a donate button below.
